Designed by an endurance cyclist and 3D-printing enthusiast, the AeroTop Replacement Lid transforms your existing Route Werks investment into a precision-engineered performance system. Built for bikepacking expeditions, ultra-distance events, and brevet riding, this lid solves five critical design limitations of the stock lid while adding professional-grade functionality previously unavailable.
Key Upgrades Over Stock Route Werks Lid
• Waterproof Design — Replaces the original lid’s External elastic-band holes (a water ingress pathway) with an inernal-loop bungee routing system, reduce raindrops accumulation while maintaining secure cargo management.
• Universal 22mm Mount System — Replaces the proprietary BarFly mounting standard with industry-standard 22mm M3 threaded inserts. Compatible with Garmin, Wahoo, Bryton, and XOSS computers via affordable quarter-turn mounts ($15–$30 vs. $60–$80 BarFly solutions).
• Integrated Carry Handle — Front-facing handle enables comfortable checkpoint transitions and doubles as an aero rest platform in full aero position.
• Aero Performance — Carry Handle provides an aero rest platform in full aero position. Estimated energy savings of 2–5 watts at threshold power — meaningful gains on ultra-distance rides.
• SRAM AXS Blips Ready (optional) — Handle features precision milling for Blips remote shifter integration, so AXS users can maintain aero position while shifting through the full cassette.
• Dual Mount Ready (optional) — Ideal for ultra-distance athletes who need a primary GPS plus a backup device, or who want navigation and performance data running simultaneously without extra handlebar mounts.
• Internal Light Mount Add-On (optional) — To mount your spare thumb light under the lid for lighting your storage, handy when riding in dark. Light is not included — compatible lights can be sourced from many marketplaces or via photo search on Taobao.
